Niagara Falls

Ann, Katie’s mom, is in town visiting and lets be honest, there really isn’t too much to see here in Buffalo NY. We drove her around our neighborhood and to a few of our local spots, but the big attraction we saved for last… Niagara Falls. No one had their passports handy so we couldn’t go over to the Canadian falls to see the iconic horse shoe, but we did have nice enough weather to see the American side very well. It was chilly enough (43F) to bundle up but not cold enough to hate life (like the 2 previous times we’ve went.

The city of Niagara Falls, NY is, well, sad. Many boarded up shops and neighborhoods I wouldn’t want to drive through let alone live in. Down town, by the falls and giant casino, isn’t too bad and Pine street definately has it’s charm but still not a town I would live in. We hear nothing but good things about the Canada side, but without updated passports or enhanced drivers licenses, we have yet to experience it first hand.

Back to the point, Ann’s visit to the falls was our best yet and a very fun day trip. We ended up going through Lewiston and hit up a local ice cream stand that we’ve been wanting to try since Katie was preggo. Here are a few photos of the day:
